Gawrsh!

...It's already the 4th of July weekend! I'm up in Cumming with the boyfriend's family and we are so prepared for Sunday...too prepared perhaps. Don't worry, for the ridiculous volume of fireworks we possess, they're also good friends with the police captain who happens to be off-duty and lighting them off with us that evening.
YB loves Atlanta artist R. Land.

Feeling patriotic? One great way to support the economy is to support local businesses. A few of my favorite local Atlanta spots would have to be: Starlight Six Drive-In (just discovered this place with a girlfriend and had a great time. Word to the wise, get there a wee bit early, and when you find a space don't park outside the lines like a douche), Papi's Cuban Cuisine in midtown (great prices, great Cuban sandwiches and yucca fries), Stefan's Vintage, which is like a fun little treasure hunt in L5P, and Criminal Records (obviously a music/record store, also located in L5P).

I'd have to say, though, with an admitted bias, that Young Blood is by far my favorite local Atlanta business. Oh yeah! And don't forget one of our favorites, King of Pops!

Stay safe this weekend (don't drink and drive), but not too safe (play with fire)!
Until next week,
Steph

Lemme Plan Your Weekend!

Everyone in Atlanta- This weekend is crammed with stuff to do! Better check everything out! This is what I'll be doing..

Friday!

The 14th Annual Atlanta Tattoo Arts Festival put on by Sacred Heart Tattoo. Come hang out and keep all our friends at local shops company! There will be vendors, contests, seminars, and of course lots of tattooing! AND rumor is that Ink and Dagger's Wheel of Destiny is going to be making an appearance..

Saturday!

To start Saturday off EVERYONE should check out Artlantis put on by our buds at Beep Beep Gallery. Last year sure was fun and this year I'm sure is going to knock last's out of the park. There's going to be local yummy food, games, live music, and tons of Atlanta's finest in the vendor and artist sections! Plus it's totally free! And check this out- R.Land designed their logo this year!
And to make things SUPER convenient.. Artlantis is being held pretty much right across the street from Young Blood! SO when you're done there you can come right over and check out our opening that's from 7-10 and the ladies can sip on some free champagne! The show is all up and lemme tell you- it looks freaking rad. I'm excited!!

Sunday!

Sunday I'll be working for R.Land at his booth at the Rock and Roll Monster Bash.. Held at none other than the Starlight Drive In! I've never been to the Monster Bash before, but I hear it's tons of fun.. Movies, Bands, Vendors, Burlesque, Hot Rods, Monsters..Count me in!

Bring it on, weekend!

Celebrity sighting of the week at YB!

Somebody is a little star struck today and that somebody is me! The one and only buff badass herself, Mz. Jillian Michaels, came in the shop today!

Three ladies came in and one was especially vocal and funny (with her cute little trucker hat) and just a little bit cocky talking about her Camaro - but how could you not be cocky when your Jillian freaking Michaels with all that power and serotonin flowing through your blood? We talked ish about vintage Chevy's and the Starlight Six Drive-In and anyway, she was buying a sweetheart pin by Brooklyn Rehab and I was giving them the scoop on area restaurants with stiff drinks and realized she looked familiar. It all came together when she handed me the black AMEX and I noticed her name. They were in town from LA for the day, and were so nice and had lots of nice things to say about Young Blood. :)

I immediately texted my friend Pepin who does Jillian's work-out videos with me in our living rooms (what? you don't do that?) and her response was, "Kick her in the face for me and check to see if she's really a robot". Now Jillian, if you happen to read this don't think we don't love you but you have to accept a little cussin because your workout is by far one of the most gut-wrenching ones I've done and I've experienced multiple decades of work outs starting with Jane Fonda which should tell you how long I've been at it! But it's also the most effective work-out using circuit training if you're like me and want to maximize the little work out time you have. Anyyyyyways, I'm really dorking out here so I'm going to sign off now but big fatty props to a powerful young woman doin her thang!

Are you kidding me with these external obliques??
